Leading electrical wire and cable manufacturer seeks to import advanced technology and agent and/or distributor for sale and after-sale service

This company turns over GBP 100 million and employs more than 1000 people.  It has been accredited with the certifications of China Green Environment Protection, EU GE, German GL, UAS ABS, Norway DNV, LR (UK), etc.

The company, with its capacity in design, manufacturing, marketing, and delivery ability for international projects, provides applications of various cables, for sectors in wind power, locomotives, ships, off-shore platform, and nuclear power stations.

Its products have been widely used in the large projects such as the Beijing Olympic stadium, the Three Gorges Dam power plant, the Err Tan power plant, the Qinghai-Tibet railway system and more generally in the project to transmit electricity from the west to the east. The company’s products have been exported to more than 20 countries, including Singapore, Australia, Brazil, Ethiopia, Pakistan, Syria, Bengal, India, Sudan, and Angola.

The company seeks to import advance technology in wire and cable industries as well as opportunities to form partnership with an agent / distributor and cable service firms for its products in the UK.

UK – China SME Week

The UK-China SME Week curtain successfully came down last week.

On Monday, 230 delegates from UK and China packed into the conference hotel hoping for face to face meeting opportunities to explore the potential in each other’s market.

The forum, expert panels, seminars, exhibition and consultation, one-to-one meetings, and networking were all well attended by delegates from the two countries. The day ended with Priestmangoode and Hytera being announced as winners of the The Windsor Awards 2012, respectively for Export of British Services and Investment in the UK, as reported in this website.

The one-to-one business matchmaking sessions enabled more than a hundred meetings and Mr. Qiu Jibao, President of Feiyue Group and Vice-chairman of China Chamber of International Commerce, said “This tops all my previous visits to the UK. I have two potential agreements from the one-to-one meetings”.

Three groups of Chinese business delegates chose to visit Bracknell Forest, Oxford and Slough in the Thames Valley to witness first-hand business opportunities and were impressed with what they saw, as reported by BBC and other media.

The day of business partnership building was drawn to a successful close at the award reception when Mr. Qiu Jibao stood up and offered award winner Priestmangoode a contract to design products with his company.

Hytera Communications (UK) wins Windsor Award 2012 for Investment in the UK

Last Wednesday’s announcement from Huawei Technology Ltd to invest £1.2 billion in the UK is a timely boost to the UK economy. Fully endorsed and supported by the UK government, it demonstrates that UK is an attractive market with long term stability and future growth.

On Monday, another Chinese investor in the UK, Hytera Communications (UK), was honoured by winning the ‘Windsor Award 2012 for Investment in the UK’, which recognises the success of Chinese investment into the UK.

Mr Cai Hai, General Manager of Overseas Division, Hytera, who flew in to the UK to attend the reception in front of 170 attending guests, received the award from the Lord-Lieutenant for the Royal County of Berkshire, Mrs Mary Bayliss.

The company expanded rapidly from a one person representative office in 2005 to today’s 5,000 sq. ft. new headquarters in a location that was selected with the help and advice of chambers, LinkToChina and its strategic partners.

Mr Andrew Yuan, General Manager of Hytera Communications (UK) said the company has been “enjoying the UK’s excellent business environment and prestigious legal system” whilst they “have been growing tremendously in the recent 7 years” since first entering the UK market.

Today the company in Slough is acting as a sale, marketing, logistic, service, training and application software developing centre for the European market.

In 2010, it became the 1st Asian company to have launched a digital products portfolio under two mainstream digital standards (TETRA and DMR) into European market. Its equipment has been used in many prestigious projects including the celebration of the Diamond Jubilee and the expected sales revenue growth rate in 2012 is 300%.

Nomination for Windsor Award Closes on 12 Sept

 

Nomination for the inaugural Windsor Awards for export of British Services and for investment in the UK will be closed on 12th September. An award dinner reception will be held on 17th September at the UK China Business Conference.

The award nominations this year are open to British companies and Chinese investors in association with the BCC LinkToChina programme and its partner. The committee is seeking successes that will inspire other British exporters of service industries and Chinese companies interested in investing in UK.

2012 Top 100 Chinese Brands to be announced in the UK

Who are at the top of 100 most valuable Chinese brands? The Beijing Brand Evaluation Co has the results for 2012 but you will have to find out from the UK-China Business Conference (17th September 2012). For the very first time in its 18 year history, the company will announce the outcome on UK soil.

Ms Jing Wang, General Manager of the Beijing based company, has accepted an invitation to speak as a panel member and will announce the result at the conference.

Haier topped the table in 2011. Among the Chinese delegates taking part at the conference, Wuliangye and TCL ranked 3rd and 7th respectively.

Chinese Retailer want to set up shops in UK

Understanding how to export to China, as told by China

British export to China is influenced by the changing policies of China to balance trade surplus, to undergo industrial structure change, to reform the foreign currency control and to internationalise China’s currency among others.

The Chinese partner of BCC LinkToChina, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and China Chamber of International Commerce is to host an inaugural national event China International Import Conference in Beijing on 6th September 2012.

The government policies forum is expected to announce various polices and support measures on export to China. The state agencies that will present at the forum have been announced and they make an impressive line-up: State Development & Reform Commission, Ministry of Science & Technology (for the imports of high-tech products), Ministry of Finance (for the change of tariffs), People’s Bank of China (for cross-border RMB trade transaction), Ministry of Agriculture (for the imports of agri-products), General Administration of Customs (for trade facilitation), General of Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection & Quarantine (for trade facilitation), Development Research Center of the State Council, State Intellectual Property Office, State Administration of Foreign Exchange, State Food & Drug Administration (for the imports of food and drugs), and Export-Import Bank of China (for trade financing).

The organisers have also announced that there will be business matchmaking sessions at the conference. CCPIT and CCOIC, as our partners in China, are also our partners at the UK China Business Conference to be held on 17th September in the UK. Many of their member businesses are coming to take part the UK conference. The proposals and propositions submited by British firms for one-to-one matchmaking at the UK conference will be eventually promoted in China through our partners initiative.

British and Chinese firms ready to meet in UK days after Olympics
