World largest manufacturer of sewing machinery will speak at the LinkToChina conference

Mr. Qiu Jibao, President of the China Feiyue Group Co.; Ltd (www.feiyue.cn), has accepted an invitation to attend and speak at the UK China Business Conference .

As the Vice-chairman of China Chamber of International Commerce, Mr. Qiu will be leading the largest delegation from CCPIT and CCOIC for the conference.

Founded in 1986, Feiyue Group has grown from a small workshop of few manual labourers to world-class manufacturer of sewing machineries and equipment.  It has 50 ranges of 500 different products with a capacity of producing 5 million a year.  Some of its products has reached 50% of the global market share and 70% of domestic market share.

Proudly claiming itself as the pacemaker of the industry, the company invest heavily in R&D and own more than 300 patents.

The company is embarking on a global expansion and has established over 1000 distributors around the world, supported by twenty-two sale subsidiaries domestically and eighteen overseas subsidiaries.

It has worked with USA and Germany in leading technologies for the textile machineries and is seeking opportunities to work with the UK.

TCL: Chinese consumer electronics giant

LinkToChina partner in Shenzhen visited UK

 

A working group from the government and chamber of the City of Shenzhen visited UK today to further work on business matchmaking services and project opportunities with LinkToChina.

The group, led by Mr  Yongxin Tao, the Vice-Chairman of CCPIT Shenzhen, and Mr. Linhai Liu, Deputy Director of the Economic service Bureau of Guangming New District, held talk today with Dr. Kegang Wu, Executive Director of BCC LinkToChina.

Shenzhen, the newest and youngest metropolitan city in the world with a 10 million plus population, has become the symbol of China’s recent economic reform and growth.  It has come of age from a small town of 30,000 in 1979 to a leading Chinese city of global trade and investment. Outbound investment in 2010 amounted to more than US$887 million. Huawei Technologies (Basingstoke) and Hytera (Slough) are all headquartered in Shenzhen.

Shenzhen is among the Chinese cities and provinces operating the LinkToChina services.

LinkToChina was briefed by the visitors on the opportunities on the China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (May 2013), the China (Shenzhen) International Finance Exposition (December 2012) and the sector opportunities in the newly established district of New Guangming.

China Music Valley Project Seek Partnership with UK Music Industry

China Music Valley is designated to be the hub of music and cultural creativity by the City of Beijing.

Identifying with the booming music market in the capital city and surrounding areas, the China Music Valley project will encompass instrument manufacturing and other aspects of the music industry, including music education, a recording studio, composer’s village, music copyright exchange market, music museum, and music events.

Beijing business Seek British comic publishers and copyright agents

The Beijing based company has plans to cooperate with the UK for up to 20 Chinese comic books to be published in English.

A dossier of sample pages for the Chinese comic titles is being prepared ahead of a visit by the company to the UK. The company will take part in a seminar in London as a part of the Beijing Culture and Creative Industry Seminar on 28th July together with a group of Beijing culture and creative companies. The managing director of the company would like to discuss publication cooperation with English publishers or copyright agents who have interests in the titles.  The company is also interested to discuss with copy-right agents and publishers who are interested in having their comic work published in China.

Chinese Aviation Industry Seek Cooperation with the UK

The national hub of Chinese aerospace and aviation manufacturing and R&D — the China Aviation Industry Base (CAIB) and National Aviation Hi-Tech Industry Base in the City of Xi’an, will visit the UK next week.

A group of senior officials from their Economic and Development Bureau and International Cooperation Bureau will hold talks with BCC LinkToChina and its members. This follows a recent visit by LinkToChina to Xian.

The City of Xian boasts the title of the 3rd largest R&D city in China and is a leading hub of high-tech industries in the world, with South Korean multinational electronics company Samsung announcing in April this year that it is going to establish a memory chip plant in Xi’an with an investment of $7 billion.

According to Xinhua, the plant that will be built will manufacture more than 100,000 memory chips per month after it goes into operation at the end of coming year.

The company has chosen this stunning city in China as the new plant site because Xian has lucrative infrastructure, outstanding public services and abundant workers, according to a Samsung spokesperson.

Beijing Culture and Creative Sector Seminar in London

A large high-profiled Beijing delegation will be visiting the UK to present opportunities in culture and creative sectors of the Beijing market in a seminar to be held on 28th July 2012 in London.

The group members, consisting of business delegates from TV, music, cultural development, publication etc., as well as chamber executives and government business development officials of the City of Beijing, are visiting the UK as a part of a large group led by the Leader and the Mayor of Beijing.

Briefings of seminar will cover a wide range of projects and attendance is free of charge. A networking reception will be held after the seminar presentations for registered attendees from UK companies to meet the delegates.

The City of Beijing leads China in the development of the cultural and creative sectors and regards the industries as key sectors in the next phase of its economic growth. Chinese Minister Counsellor for Economy and Trade to Speak at UK-China Business Conference

The 300 British and Chinese delegates attending the Conference on 17th September in Slough will have the opportunity to listen to one the most sought-after speakers on the subject of Chinese economy and UK-China trade.

Mr. Zhou Xiaoming from the Chinese Embassy in London, who heads up the Economy and Trade Office for the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, is a confirmed keynote speaker at the opening Forum of the UK-China SME Week.

An authoritative and enthusiastic champion of UK-China friendship and economic ties, Mr. Zhou recently commented that UK-China trade in goods reached the historical height of $58.7 billion. Mr. Zhou believes that Chinese companies are increasing looking to British companies for cooperation in finance, information and technologies. On investing in UK, he wrote: “In 2011, Chinese investment (excluding investment through financial service products) in the UK reached the accumulative total of $23 billion and half of that was invested during the year”.

In his preface for the special publication ‘How To Do Business in the UK – A Practical Guide’, Mr. Zhou is positive on the prospect of more UK-China business partnerships: “Through the combined effort and tireless nurturing of the people of the UK and China, the relationship between UK and China has entered a new stage of maturity, stability and full development, future cooperation between the businesses of the two countries will be closer and deeper”.

This year the UK and China celebrate the 40th anniversary of ambassadorial diplomatic relations.

Chinese Provinces and Cities sign up to send Chinese businesses to the largest one-day UK-China business matchmaking event

More than 100 Chinese businesses are expected to join 200 British counterparts at the UK-China Business Conference in Copthorne Hotel Slough-Windsor on 17th September 2012.

Chinese businesses from the provinces of Hunan, Jilin, Shaanxi, Zhejiang and the cities of Beijing, Shanghai and Qingdao will take part in one of the most exciting UK-China events of the year. The groups will be organised by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the China Chamber of International Commerce, their provincial chambers and other partners of the BCC LinkToChina Programme.

The Conference, which features a business matchmaking session, a UK-China SME Forum, market briefings & seminars, and a networking reception for UK and Chinese delegates, is the flagship event of the UK-China SME Week which has activities planned in London, Slough, Oxford, Harwell and Bracknell. Visits are also being planned for Liverpool, Manchester, Cambridge and many more locations across the UK by the Chinese groups.

The one-to-one business matchmaking session, with pre-selected proposals and propositions from both British and Chinese delegates, will accommodate up to 250 face-to-face meetings (scheduled appointments).

Shanghai Wants More British Brands and Designers

In a discussion today held in BCC LinkToChina’s head office, a Shanghai governmental delegation from the Huangpu District, the Central business district of Shanghai, explored with the LinkToChina programme on how British cultural industries, creative sectors and retail sectors may get more involved in Shanghai.

The new Huangpu District, which has just been expanded by the merge of Huangpu and Luwang Districts, is now one the largest retail district in China, featuring the world famous waterfront, the Bund, and Nanjing Road / Huahai Road high streets, and the World Expo site.

Led by Ms Hua Zhang, the Chairwoman of a top committee of Shanghai Huangpu Government, the group wants to see more British brands in their high streets and more British designers and cultural specialists in their booming creative and service industries.

The Shanghai delegates said that a new retail development of 40,000 square metters in a prime location is looking for products of British Brand to partner with. They have taken interest in some of the UK proposals featured in the LinkToChina bulletins.
